We are pleased to bring you exciting new classes for Summer 2017. Cool new experiences await students in Living History where students will engage in immersive projects and reenactments based on historical periods in world or U.S. history. Going Green focuses on our environment, its current state and what we can do to help Mother Earth. Meteorology will teach students about weather and forecasting and students in Writing the News will learn about traditional journalism, writing news stories and critical thinking. Movie Quiz Game Show and Kids’ Literature Workshop are fresh approaches to film appreciation and reading classes that encourage students to explore popular and classic media. Healthy Kids is a wonderful new class designed to help kids learn about healthy lifestyles including nutrition, fitness and managing stress.
The new Multimedia, Digital Comics and Drama classes are popular favorites that have been refreshed with new curriculum. Our traditional math, creative writing, art, sports and swimming classes still provide an excellent foundation of our program.
Middle school students also have the opportunity to participate in a one-week STEM Camp from June 12-16. Participants will study the West Valley Creek Restoration project with a STEM infused curriculum.
The College Prep Camp is back this year and will run from June 19-July 7. High school students will spend three weeks learning what they can do now to that will make a difference to their college experience. Instructors will cover the admissions process, personal statements, test prep, and student resources – both pre and post admission.
No matter which classes you choose for your child’s schedule this summer, it is sure to be a summer of learning and fun. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

West Valley College is a community college in northern California. Founded in 1963, the campus is located on 143 acres on the west side of Silicon Valley in the city of Saratoga. West Valley College is part of the West Valley-Mission Community College District. The district serves the cities of Saratoga, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Campbell, Santa Clara, and San Jose.
