Grades: Students entering grades 6-9
Dates: June 12th to 16th
Class times: Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 1:45pm
Location: West Valley College
For one week students will be immersed in fun and engaging group projects and activities. Students will engineer water filtration systems and technology tools for testing West Valley’s creek waters.
Students will learn about West Valley College’s Creek Restoration Project leading them into scientific discussions around climate change and the water cycle. Students will have the opportunity to use their math skills to help address problems we are facing today with high and low periods of water influx into California’s waterways.
Some topics include: water as a precious resource, where our water comes from, watersheds, & water quality
